Instagram is one of those social media platforms where pretty much everyone can follow anyone. But, is this really that bad? Well, let’s put this in perspective – allowing people we don’t know to follow us gives them access to see everything we post.
Evidently, this is something that some users don’t like. Therefore, they opt to set their profiles to private. But, what happens when you have followers that managed to follow you before setting your account to private mode?
What can one do? Well, there’s always a solution, and in this case, it’s to simply block the follower(s). So, here’s how you can block anyone you want in a few simple steps.
How To Block an Instagram Follower
First of all, open up Instagram on your phone and tap the profile icon on the bottom right. Then, you will need to enter your list of followers. To do so, simply tap where it says followers on the upper part of your screen.
From there you can select the person or people you want to block. However, keep in mind that if you want to block more than one user, you will need to repeat the process. Unfortunately, we can’t block several people at the same time.
So, here’s what to do next. Once you decide who you want to block, simply enter their profile and tap the three dots on the top right of the screen. Finally, tap where it says block and that’s all.
This method will help you get rid of those people you don’t want to follow you. However, if you decide to revert things in the future, there’s an option for it. As a matter of fact, you just have to repeat the steps from this article and you will be able to unblock any user if you choose to do so.
Last of all, blocking an user will not notify them about the action taken. In other words, you can choose who can and can’t follow you without offending anyone.
