Instagram is by far one of the most popular apps in the world – people spend a lot of time scrolling through it. But, how much time is normal to spend on Instagram? One hour, two hours, three maybe? There’s no right answer to that. In fact, there are people who need to spend several hours a day on Instagram because of their jobs. So, we could say that this is necessary. But what about regular people? How do we know if they are using Instagram too much?
Well, it’s not really that hard to determine. If you spend over 8 hours a day on Instagram and put aside your chores, you might be suffering from Instagram addiction. However, there’s really not much to worry about. In fact, Instagram is aware of this problem which is why they decided to do something about it.
Your Activity – The Feature To Combat Instagram Obsession
As we mentioned before, Instagram is aware of the obsession that some users have with the platform. Therefore, the leading team on Instagram decided to take matters into their own hands and launch a helpful feature called your activity. But why is this feature helpful, and what does it do?
Your Activity is a new Instagram feature created to control the overuse of the platform. This feature has been designed to allow users to manage their time on social media. In fact, Instagram users are allowed to set daily limits on how much time they spend on the app.
Once the time limit has been reached, a reminder will be sent through the app. Of course, there will also be an option to dismiss that and continue surfing the platform. In short, in order for this to work, each user has to put all of their effort into collaborating with the new feature.
Your activity will also be implemented on Facebook, where users will also be able to see the time they spend on the platform. Currently, you can find this feature on Instagram by tapping the three-line icon at the top right-hand side of the profile page.
We can’t deny that Instagram is an amazing platform. However, as amazing as it might be, we shouldn’t spend all of our time scrolling through it. Nevertheless, this doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t use Instagram at all anymore.
Feel free to use it anytime, but always consider that there’s more to life than just social media. We understand that this might be somewhat ironic. But, if you are having trouble beating your obsession with Instagram, use their new feature to help you do just that.
Eventually, you will find that spending just an adequate amount of time on Instagram will be better for you. In fact, doing so will allow you to resume things you left on hold for the photo-sharing platform.
