Facebook study research app

Facebook is one of those platforms where people share content, but don’t get money in return. Unlike YouTube, Facebook places ads on videos but don’t share the revenue with its creators. But, recent news seem to indicate that a selected number of people might have the opportunity to start making some money off of Facebook. How so? Well, let us tell you a little bit about the new Facebook study research app.

So, here’s the thing. Facebook has developed a new app called Study. The goal is to get people to use this app and have them share their information in exchange for some money.

Evidently, the words information and Facebook together don’t really inspire too much trust in us all. As a matter of fact, it’s been over a year since the Cambridge Analytica Scandal, and people still haven’t forgotten about the Facebook screw up.

Facebook is not looking to get into another scandal. So, they are now ready to offer money to its users in exchange for their information. Here’s everything you need to know.

What Information Will Facebook Gather?

So, we’ll keep it short. Facebook will have access to our phones in general. They will be able to see the apps that we have installed. How much time we spend using them, the activities we do within these apps, and the country we are from. According to Facebook, all this information will be collected to “build better products” and “improve the platform”.

Now, Facebook has made it clear that they intend to respect their users’ privacy. And so, all the information that they will collect is not going to be used to target us with custom advertisings or anything of such kind.

Also, the social media platform has stated that not a single third party company will have access to users’ information. To put it briefly, Facebook will be collecting the information of how we use the apps that are installed on our phones, and the average time that we spend using each one of them.

Facebook is going to be able to see our IDs and even passwords, but under no circumstance will they be able to share them.

Money?

There’s a saying we’re sure most of you are familiar with. Money makes the monkey dance. Indeed, we know a lot of people don’t really trust Facebook after the big mess up of 2018. So, a good way to actually consider sharing your information with them is being monetarily compensated.

But, do we know how much money they will be paying? Unfortunately, we don’t. There are no reports as to how much money people using the Study app are going to make. However, there are certain speculations that claim users could be making up to $20 a month.

The fact of the matter is that only those who are accepted into the program will be given the full information. In other words, once you get accepted into the Study app, you will learn how much money you can make, and all the additional details.

Note

Unfortunately, Facebook Study is only going to be available in the United States, and in India. But, there are plans for the app to be available throughout the rest of the world. Of course, this all depends on how much acceptance it gets during its first months working.

Finally, there will be an option to simply stop using the app, and to stop selling your information to Facebook. But, that will all be communicated through the recruitment process. So, what do you think? Would you share your information with Facebook for money?
