So, here are three of my best Instagram management and growth tips. While none of them will ensure you overnight success, they’ll at least lead you to steady follower engagement and growth.
The issue is many people aren’t willing to put in the work expected to daily run an Instagram audience that generates real business results. They want easy and fast tips for buying results.
You want to know a not so secret secret? That kind of laziness leads to an Instagram account with a lot of followers but not a lot of comments and even fewer sales.
So, check out these already tried and true tips for growing your followers and increasing engagement the right way.
1. Post on Instagram one to three times per day.
The most ideal way to get business results from Instagram is to always be active on your page. No surprise there. But how many times should you posting new ‘gram each week? That depends on your vision. The Instagram accounts with the largest followers are posting 96 times per month. Broken down that’s about 3 times per day.
If you want to grow a very large audience, you should post many times every day, including weekends. You don’t have to post 3 times per day though.

From user perspective, you’ll likely think that this isn’t such a bad change. Now, you’ll always see highly quality content. From a business point of view, however, you want to reach as many people as possible to show up as high as you can in users feed.
While this is definitely a challenge, it’s not going to work. Here is the only thing you really need to know about the Instagram algorithm change: The end user is still ultimately in control.
Posts from your mutual friends will show up high in your image feed because you engage with posts from your mutual friends a lot. If you also engage with posts from a particular company a lot, then posts from that company will similarly show up high in your feed. It is as simple as that. This means that the key for any business to reach its audience on Instagram is just to post high quality content that its audience will want to engage with.
Here are some lists of things your company can post:
- Re-grams of user-generated content
- Fun behind-the-scenes photos
- Contest and giveaway posts
- Video posts
- Telling fun or inspiring or funny customer stories
- Current event posts
3. Think carefully about your captions.
Since we know that the secret to working with the Instagram algorithm is to create quality content that engages an audience, it’s vital to spend a little time talking about captions. When you’re in a rush to publish your post, the caption may be the last thing you want to sit around thinking about. The problem is, a really great caption can break or make your post.
A thoughtful or witty caption will absolutely help you earn a comments or a like because it brings an emotional reaction. In addition, comments that come with question in them will not only lead to user engagement but it will prompt it.
