Instagram And Its First Billion Monthly Active Users
Instagram is by far one of the most popular social platforms in the actuality. Since it was launched in 2010 the photo-sharing app has not stopped growing. But, who would have thought that only 8 years after been released, such simple app meant to be used as a platform to share photos and add filters would reach one billion monthly active users?.
That’s about right. Instagram has now reached the incredible amount of one billion active users per month. And, of course, it goes without saying it is well deserved.
Today we will tell you everything about this important event and how it was announced.
On June 20th, 2018, Instagram announced in an event at San Francisco to have finally reached the one billion users milestone. Of course, this was something a lot of people was already expecting. After all, Instagram had been growing at a fast pace since it was bought by Facebook in 2012, reaching 800 million users just in September of last year.

As we mentioned before Instagram has continued to grow every time faster since it was launched in 2010. In its first year only, the photo-sharing app surpassed the one million active users milestone.
It was not until after it was bought by Facebook though, that the social platform reached over 50 million active users per month.
Finally, when it comes to other apps, Instagram is close to reaching the same number of users that Messenger has (1.3b).
Instagram keeps its goals a secret. However, it is not hard to imagine they only want the best for us. It might take a while for them to reach its second billion mark.
But we are sure, it will be worth the wait. In the meantime, let’s keep using the app and see what Instagram has for us in the future.
