There was a time when we couldn’t control who could see our stories on Instagram. Fortunately, the photo-sharing app has now a released a new update that can help us all of us with that. 

Less than a week ago, Instagram released a new update called Close Friends. A feature like this allows users to select who can see what they post on their stories. Currently, there are millions of people with millions of followers on their Instagram accounts. Therefore, the idea of actually being able to select who can view their Instagram stories is great. 

How to use it

Using Instagram Close Friends is very easy. In order to add people to your list, you just have to follow a few steps. First of all, go to your profile and tap on “Close Friends” in the side menu.

After that, select the people you want to add to your Close Friends list. Doing so will help you once you decide to start sharing on Stories. In fact, when you do post on Stories you will have an additional option. 

At the bottom, you will have a green badge with a star that reads Close Friends. All you have to do is tap it and only the people you added to the list will be able to see what you shared on your Story.

Bonus

This feature does not allow people to request being on a specific list. So, you can modify who you want to see what you share on Stories at any time. And the best part is that no one will know when they have not been included on a list. 

However, when you are added to a Close Friends list, you will notice a green badge while viewing the shared Story.

It has not been too long since this new feature was released for both iOS and Android users. However, people are already loving it. The idea of selecting how many people you want to actually see what you post on your stories has made everyone happy. Now we only have to see what Instagram has next for us.
