Instagram is one of the most complete apps in the world. As a matter of fact, the platform has features within features. Take Stories for example, you can add stickers, reminders, countdowns, you name it. Unfortunately, there’s a small problem. And that is that Instagram doesn’t always make its features available for everyone. For instance, the Instagram music sticker can only be used in a small number of countries.
So small in fact that you can count it with the fingers of your hand. France, Germany, Sweden, Australia, the UK, and the United States. Now, here’s the thing. Instagram music was first introduced in June 2018. And at the time I am writing this article, it is June 2019.
It’s been exactly one year, and there are still hundreds of countries that can’t use Instagram music. So, all that’s left to ask is: Will the Instagram music sticker be available worldwide? Let’s find out!
Instagram Music Sticker – What Can We Expect?
So, here’s what we know. Instagram made an actual article that was then posted on its Info Center page. In it, they detailed how this new feature was going to work and let us know that the sticker would only be available in a select number of countries.
But, within that piece of bad news, there was a grain of hope. A promise of a music sticker for us all. That’s right, in the very last part of the article, users could read this:
“We know that music can play an important role in how you share your moments and express yourself with friends and we’re working hard to bring it to the global community in the future.”
Instagram told us that the Instagram music sticker will become available globally, but they didn’t specify when. That’s pretty clever if you think about it.
The Possible Reason Behind The Delay
We’re sure some of you have wondered the same thing as us. Why is this taking so long? New features become available worldwide within months.
So, how much longer do we have to wait? Well, we would honestly like to answer that. Unfortunately, we can’t. What we can do though is give you an idea of what we believe is making Instagram take this much time to make the music sticker available for all of us.
You see, when it comes to multimedia content (movies, songs, e-books, etc). There’s one thing we must all respect. And that is permission. Take Netflix for example, the popular streaming service that offers movies and shows to people all over the world.
But, here’s the thing. Some of its content isn’t available in every country. Why? Well, because they simply didn’t get the permits of some content to be streamed in certain places. We think the same thing is happening with Instagram. Perhaps, they are still working on getting permits from certain record companies, and that’s why they are taking this much time.
Long Story Short
Instagram will eventually release the music sticker feature globally. But, we don’t know how long that will take. So, for now, all we have to do is wait. That, or you could simply read this article and learn how to get the music sticker regardless of the country you live in.
Hopefully there won’t be a need to use the method we describe in the attached article from above in the future. Perhaps, new countries will be able to access the music sticker starting in 2020.
