Unlike YouTube, Instagram does not have a night mode feature. Therefore, we will need to download a Chrome extension that will help us achieve just that. Now, some of you are probably wondering, why don’t we simply reduce the brightness of our screens?
Well, that’s a good question. And to be honest it is actually a great solution. However, night mode overcomes bright reduction. The black colour of a night theme allows our eyes to rest as much as possible while working on a computer.
Unfortunately, there are still plenty of platforms that don’t worry about that. Nevertheless, we can always opt to use chrome extensions. In fact, that’s precisely what we are going to do just about now.
Here’s how to add a night mode to Instagram for PC.
1. Open Up Google Chrome
First of all, you will need to open Google Chrome. Here’s how you can download it in case you don’t have it installed.
2. Type Web Store On The Search Bar
Second of all, you will need to type “Web Store” in the search bar. After that, you will be redirected to a page where there are countless extensions. Of course, we are only interested in finding one in particular. Therefore, we will make use of the search bar within the page and type “Night Mode for Instagram”, here.
3. Add It As An Extension
Finally, all that is left to do is to simply click where it says “Add To Chrome”. After you do that, the extension will appear on the top of your toolbar. From there you can select it and turn it on and off. Depending on what you choose, the interface of Instagram will change.

There are literally hundreds of similar extensions. However, most of them are universal. Therefore they mightn’t always work. Instead, we recommend you go with the extension we just talked about, as it was designed exclusively for Instagram.
