Learn How To Use The New Instagram Portrait Mode Feature
Instagram has done it again. This time the photo-sharing app has come up with a new feature that is killing it so far. We are talking about the new Instagram portrait mode.
This is Instagram feature that allows its users to blur the background of their photos to make them look better.
This kind of effect can usually be found already installed in mobile devices such as the iPhone X and the Google Pixel 2. However, Instagram wanted to give all its users the same opportunity to use this type of interesting feature, and so, it released an update that made this possible.
If you want to learn how to use the Instagram portrait mode, just stay with us, as we will walk you through the whole process.
How Does It Work?
Well, as with most features, portrait mode can be activated by just tapping a few options on your phone screen. Let’s see how it’s done.
1. Open Instagram Stories
Instagram’s portrait mode allows you to blur the background of your videos and photos using Instagram Stories.
To activate this feature, just enter the Stories camera and tap the focus option. It is located in between the Boomerang and Superzoom buttons.
2. Tap The Screen
Finally, just tap the screen and select the face you want the feature to focus on. You can do this for both the front camera and the rear camera. Once you do it, the app will take care of the rest.
As you can see, using Instagram’s new feature is quite easy. However, it still needs to be improved.
In fact, the Instagram portrait mode was just released a few months ago. For instance, developers still need to make a few changes to match the quality mobile phones such as the iPhone X or the Google Pixel 2 provide when it comes to blurring the background of a pic.
Note
Keep in mind, using this effect will not affect any of the other Instagram features. You still can add stickers, gifs and much more to your Stories on Instagram.
