Instagram scheduling has long been a headache for many social media managers. Indeed, the social media platform has forced brands to look for online tools that would allow them to schedule their posts. But, here’s the thing. In order to use an external scheduling site, brands on Instagram need to pay some money.
Fortunately, Instagram has recently added a new feature that will allow brands on the platform to schedule their posts. However, in order to do so, they will need to use Facebook. But, don’t worry, today we are going to walk you through the process of scheduling your Instagram posts directly from Facebook.
How To Schedule Your Posts
So, the first thing that you need to know is that there is this thing called Instagram creator studio. However, in order to access it, you need to first enter the Facebook creator studio. We know it sounds odd, but somehow it works. As a matter of fact, if you think about it, you can customize things from both Facebook and Instagram in one place.
Now, needless to say, the very first thing you want to do is link your Instagram business account to your creator studio dashboard. Then, simply follow these steps. First, go to your Instagram creator studio on Facebook, and click where it says “Create Post.”
Then go to Post to Instagram, and start creating your post. Notice that you can do much more than just adding a picture. As a matter of fact, you can add a location, put in your caption, use emojis, ad tags, among other things.
Finally, when you are done with all of that, there will be a blue button on the bottom that reads Publish – but don’t click it yet. Instead, click the drop-down arrow located next to it. Doing so will open up the scheduling tool.
So, all that’s left to do is select the date and time you want your post to be published and voilà, you’re good to go.
Why Did Instagram Add This Function?
Instagram is the second-largest social media platform in the world. It has over one billion monthly active users. And of course, out of that number millions of them are brands that make money off the platform every single day.
Unfortunately, there has always been a problem with using Instagram for business. You simply could not schedule your posts in advance. Evidently, many brands didn’t like this and so they opted to look for online tools that would allow them to do such a thing.
Now, here’s the thing. Instagram doesn’t allow users to use third-party tools. As a matter of fact, doing so goes against their terms of service. Moreover, you risk getting your account shut down. But, brands decide to take the risk as long as they are allowed to schedule their posts in advance.
And the fact of the matter is that scheduling posts makes things much easier for business on Instagram. Certainly, Instagram noticed this wasn’t going to stop. So, they finally decided to implement the tool that would let users do what they have already been doing.
In a nutshell, Instagram has added this new function to keep things in house, and improve the user experience for brands on the platform.
The Instagram creator studio does not only allow you to schedule posts to your Instagram feed but also to IGTV. However, the platform is yet to add Stories to the list. The update is sort of new. So, we don’t really know how long this might take.
