Instagram rich kids

Instagram has always been a place for people to share their best moments with their friends and family. However, some people use the platform to flaunt their luxurious lives. And, it’s not that there’s anything wrong with that. As a matter of fact, there are millions of Instagram accounts where you can see a millionaire showing their achievements.

But, that’s precisely it, achievements! On the other hand, there are those who show off things that are technically not even theirs. For instance, how many times have you stumbled upon an Instagram account where a 16 or 17-year-old kid is sharing posts where they hang out with exotic animals in their mansions? I know I have done so multiple times. And here’s the thing.

Most of these kids enjoy the wealth of their parents. Of course, the fact is that regardless of whether these users make money of their own or not, there are millions of people commenting on how awesome their lives seem to be.

Evidently, this has led users to identify them as “the rich kids of Instagram.” A very accurate name if you think about it. What’s funny though is that a new Instagram trend was created in the base of that. Here’s what you need to know.

The “Not A Rich Kid Of Instagram Trend”

So, what is this “Not a rich kid of Instagram” trend all about? Well, we are going to try and put it in simple terms – it’s a parody/marketing campaign! Simpler than that is just impossible. You see, multiple users on the internet have decided to join the trend and copy some of the posts “rich kids” of Instagram have in their accounts, and make a parody out of them.

For instance, there might be a post of someone grabbing a Rolex with a pair of chopsticks. Whereas there is a similar post replicating that photo. But, instead of a person using chopsticks, they might be using a pen. And rather than showing an actual Rolex, they would be showing the drawing of a Rolex.

There are actually multiple posts where people imitate a lot of the photos rich kids of Instagram post. But, how did this start exactly? Well, as it turns out, this trend is nothing else but a marketing campaign orchestrated by the one and only KFC.

KFC hired a market agency MRM Romania to come up with an advertising campaign. And what better way to draw people’s attention than to create a strategy where we users get to laugh. So, soon enough young Romanians started sharing posts parodying the snaps rich kids of Instagram share on their accounts.

Finally, each post would have the hashtag #distractiepebaniputini or as it translates to English: Little Money Big Fun. Some users are also opting to use the #notarichkidofInstagram hashtag.
